Janamashtami at Shri Banke Bihari...

Bankey Bihari temple is the shrine which is well known for the deity Krishna. Bankey Bihari was originated by Swami Haridas in Nidhivan. The temple was created in 1864 with the help of Goswamis. The Bankey means bent at three places and bihari is said to be Supreme enjoyer. The pattern of the temple is created from the rajasthani style of architecture. Still after so many years the shrine hasn’t lost its beauty and charisma.

The heavenly feeling of the holy place makes them to forget all there sadness and grant the endless delight. One more unlike aspect of this temple, the deity is clad up with clothes and bhogs according to the season. It also doesn’t have bells or conch as Bakey Bihari ji does not like it. The only tune of radhe radhe is the heard around the temple as lord Krishna love the name of radha that is why the shrine is always resounded with the chant.

Bankey Bihari ji is worshiped in different ways in order of three parts, Shringar, Rajbhog and Shayan. This holy temple opens late in the morning as it is considered that lord Krishna plays at night and gets up late.
